PH30973: HANGING SITUATION IN NATIVE MODE WHEN VUX025/PARALLEL=1 AND SEVERAL SELECT AGAINST A PARTITION TABLESPACE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• An HPU step can hang when the following
  conditions are fulfilled :
  - the unload is run in native mode
  - a partitioned tablespace is involved through at least two
  logical unloads (SELECT statement and OUTDDN option) under the
  same UNLOAD statement
  the applicable parallelism for reading partitions is 1 and
  directly from the setting of VUX025/PARALLEL parmlib parameter
  which implies the following requirements:
    - VUX025/PARALLEL is set to 1
    - no "PARALLELISM (n,,,,)" or "PARALLELISM n" option is
  specified
  - the VUU036/GBLPARAL parmlib parameter is set to YES
  

Local fix

• add a "PARALLELISM (1,....,)" or "PARALLELISM 1" option to the
  unload command.
