• SORT and MERGE statements in COBOL programs compiled with the
  LP(64) option can return incorrect results

  The communication of the lengths of sorted records between the
  COBOL program and runtime was not being done reliably when the
  LP(64) option was in effect.
  

Problem conclusion

• The compiler was updated so that the communication of the
  lengths of sorted records is done reliably between the COBOL
  program and COBOL runtime when the LP(64) option is in effect.
