  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR provides enhancements to      *
  *                      manage APPLCOMPAT for views, synonyms,  *
  *                      and hash-organized tables.              *
  ****************************************************************
  This enhancement provides the following support at the indicated
  function levels:
  
  1. Function level 500 and later:
  Create view - The GEN and DDL line commands set the view
  APPLCOMPAT value prior to CREATE VIEW statements, and restore
  the value back to the target function level after the view is
  created. If the target function level is lower than the view
  APPLCOMPAT value, the target function level is displayed
  instead.
  
  2. Function level 504 and later:
  Create synonym and hash-organized table - The APPLCOMPAT
  value is set to
  function level 503 prior to creating synonyms and hash-
  organized tables, and restored back to the target function level
  after the object is created.
