    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When communicating over SSL, log        *
    *                      entries for I/O failures may refer to   *
    *                      a timeout when a non-timeout occurs.    *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When an SSL read or write fails, the error is reported
    correctly, but then subsequent log messages report that a
    "timeout" occurred.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The code was updated to differentiate between timeouts and
    other failures.
    
    The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
    8.5.5.18 and 9.0.5.6. For more information, see 'Recommended
