APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • An invalid assembler USING in IGZXSLP1 causes a bad memory
    access using R15.

    IGZXSLP1 implements a tracepoint for the debugging of problems
    with debug support, so if the runtime debug setup is correct,
    this error will not be encountered.

Local fix

  • Correct the debug setup, for example in CICS make sure you have
    updated the CSD and DFHRPL as noted in the Migration Guide.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of Enterprise COBOL 5 and later *
    * releases running programs which generate *
    *                 CEEDUMP.                                     *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The COBOL program terminates with 0C4 *
    *                      in entry point 'IGZXSLP1'               *
    * during the production of CEEDUMP. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF *
    ****************************************************************
    When processing the 'Local Variables' or 'Variable Map' section
    of the CEEDUMP, a user error was encountered due to one of the
    reasons explained in the URL below. The COBOL runtime attempted
    to diagnose and handle the user error. During this process it
    accessed invalid storage by mistake, leading to an 0C4 ABEND.
