Error description

  • OperationNotSupportedException is received while client shell is
    starting.
    
    WSCL0100E: Exception received: javax.naming.OperationNotSupporte
    dException: An application cannot modify a java: context at
    runtime.
     JVM property naming.allowJavaNameSpaceUpdatesAtRuntime can
     be set to true to allow it, which is not JEE compliant.

Local fix

Problem summary

    Due to new Java EE compliant checks, Application Client
    launchClient command may issue
    javax.naming.OperationNotSupportedException warning errors.
    However, operations were not affected.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Code changes were made to correctly check the java contexts.
    
    The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
