    *                         z/OS.                                *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF *
    ****************************************************************
    1. Every restart of Db2 ssid, monitored by CQM, caused an
       increase of about 0.8Mb of real memory associated with the
       CQM STC.

    2. Every restart of IBM Db2 Query Monitor Collector or IBM
       Security Guardium S-TAP for Db2 on z/OS caused memory leak in
       CSA for 464 bytes per monitored Db2 ssid.
       Every restart of the master address space for IBM Db2 Query
       Monitor Collector or IBM Security Guardium S-TAP for Db2 on
       z/OS caused a memory leak in CSA of 4096 bytes.

Problem conclusion

  • 1. Logic was changed to reduce the amount of
    memory left in CQM after Db2 restart to about 10Kb.

    2. Programs were updated to not orphan storage in CSA
    during restart of IBM Db2 Query Monitor Collector or IBM
    Security Guardium S-TAP for Db2 on z/OS or master address space.
