APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • - take two Load Module data sets A and B, each containing at
least two load modules with same name a and b but with different
 content
- ensure they are different by comparing to each other a from A
and a from B, then b from A and b from B
- select a and b from B -> Copy -> Paste into A. A window pops
up telling a and b are already in A. Click Overwrite All
  copy seems to happen but they are not replaced actually (do a
compare to each other again)
- select a from B -> Copy -> Paste into A or drag a from B and
drop it into A. The copy works and the member is correctly
replaces.

  • Copy members one by one

Problem summary

  • When using copy/paste to replace a load module, the operation
fails

Problem conclusion

  • The load module is not replaced because the mechanism that
copies it, requires that an existing load module must first be
deleted
