Error description

  • ABEND0C1 in low core at address x'8' when QM is restarted within
    seconds after being shutdown and STAP is still activity auditing

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1) ABEND0C1 after branch to offset X'8' *
    *                       from CQCMCMB1.                         *
    *                      2) ABEND0E0-29 in CQCMESC5 causing      *
    *                      recovery loop.                          *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY the PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
    1) ABEND0C1 during shutdown of Query Monitor when STAP is still
    active auditing.
    2) ABEND0E0-29 when running the Db2 Admin tool application.

Problem conclusion

  • 1) There is a small time window during commit processing where
    QM will branch to offset 8 when STAP is still active. The 0C1
    abends are recovered and the SQL commit processing is not
    impacted but performance can be hindered for a brief period of
    time if the installation has a lot of commit processing.
    2) Also, recovery was entered in ARMODE and DB2 came into it's
    DSNXERT process with an ALET of 5 in access register 14.
