PH26288: WASPOSTUPGRADE EXTRACTS A FILE BEFORE ITS PARENT DIRECTORY WITH REGARD TO SHARED LIBRARIES

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• WebSphere Migration process is failing during WASPostUpgrade
  regarding shared library migration portion from WebSphere 8.5.5
  to 9.0. Client has many shared libraries associated with
  InformationServer / IIS installation.

  The WASPostUpgrade is
  attempting to extract a file, before the parent directory is
  extracted, causing the Node Migration failure:

Local fix

• Manually recursively copy the contents of the shared library
  directory structure
  from the node profile in the WebSphere ND
  85 environment to the node profile in the WebSphere Network
  Deployment 90, e.g. AppSrv01 which was used in this case.

  When extracting the files in the migration jar for a shared
  library during PostUpgrade, it is possible that PostUpgrade may
  attempt to write the file to the new environment before its
  directory structure is created, resulting in the following
  exception:
  MIGR0285E: An unexpected internal error
  occurred with exception java.io.FileNotFoundException:
  /path/file.xml(No such file or directory)
  

Problem conclusion

• The migration tooling was updated to always create a file's
  directory structure before extracting the file.
  
  The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
