PH26192: WEB SERVER CRASHES WHEN WEBSPHERE PLUGIN DYNAMICALLY RELOADED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When the WebSphere plugin file - plugin-cfg.xml - is updated
  whilst IHS is running, the plugin crashes when reloading the
  configuration:
  
  Windows recorded Application error, ID: 1000,
  Faulting module name: iisWASPlugin_http.dll
  
  Windows recorded
  System - WAS "A process serving application pool 'xxx.xxx.com'
  suffered a fatal communication error with the Windows Process
  Activation Service. The process id was '6728'. The data field
  contains the error number."

  The last line in the plugin trace file from the crashing
  process prior to the crash will be an entry from
  webSphereEndRequest if running at plugin trace level DEBUG or
  TRACE. The last stack entry on the crash data will also
  indicate websphereEndRequest.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code was referencing data from the old configuration file
  when the request finished processing. This reference can cause
  a crash if memory tooling is configured to monitor for memory
  overwrites or misuse.
  
  The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
  8.5.5.18 and 9.5.0.5. For more information, see 'Recommended
