Error description

  • When CICS is initializing there is a call to see if IBM® z/OS®
Workload Interaction Correlator which produces DFHMN0001
ABEND0C4 in DFGMNSU. CICS is starting up, and the domains are
initializing. Monitor Domain starts initialization and starts
    various activities.
    .
PA and XM domains drive DFHMNSU which
    calls DFHMNSVC to issue PB_CREATE.

    Meanwhile, at some point,
MN domain wants to find out if ZWIC is needed and drives
DFHMNSU which calls DFHMNSVC to issue ZWIC_REGISTER.

    If the
DFHMNSU->DFHMNSVC->ZWIC_REGISTER call happens while all of
those DFHMNSU->DFHMNSVC->PB_CREATE are occurring, then there
can be a conflict in the use of the MAFPB control block.

CICS initialisation fails with an 0C4 abend in module DFHMNSU
on an EXECUTE instruction: 4490 6008.
The error can be reported at offset X'1620' or X'1A8C' in
    DFHMNSU.
The EX target instruction is an XC: D700 7000 7000.
The problem is that Register 7 is 00000000_00000000
causing the XC instruction to fail.
MN domain has called DFHMNSVC to obtain a zWIC buffer,
but the call failed, and returned a null pointer.
Subsequent use of the null pointer caused the 0C4.

    Keywords: mna_state_lock

Problem conclusion

  • UI69119 UI69121

DFHMNSU has been changed to serialise calls to DFHMNSVC
    for zWIC buffer allocation.
