  *                 compiling Db2 programs with the SQL          *
  *                 compiler option (Integrated SQL coprocessor) *
  *                 who have syntax errors in the host variable  *
  *                 declarations.                                *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: There are several different types of    *
  *                      errors in host variable declarations    *
  *                      that all generate the same error        *
  *                      message, "IGYPS0212-S SQL host variable *
  *                      reference "yournamehere" had invalid    *
  *                      syntax", but no details are provided to *
  *                      help customers fix their specific       *
  *                      problem.                                *

  The compiler was using a single error message for 3 different
  syntax errors instead of giving as much details as possible to
  help programmers resolve the issue.
  

Problem conclusion

• Two new error messages were added to give more details when a
  host variable is used that has level 49 or has a contained
  filler item, new message 0293: ( SQL host variable reference
  "&1" was defined with level number 49 which is not valid for an
  SQL host variable. The statement was discarded. );
  and new message 0294: ( SQL host variable reference "&1" was
  defined with a contained "" data item, which
  is not valid for an SQL host variable. The statement was
  discarded. );
