Error description

  • The allowSameRelease option for v9 to v9 migration has existed
in WASPostUpgrade for several fixes as a property used for
cloud migration. Given its stability, expose and document its
existence for non-cloud migrations.

The WebSphere Application Server WASPreUpgrade tool generally
requires customers be migrating from an earlier release of
WebSphere Application Server. However, to make it easier for
customers to move their WebSphere Application Server version 9
installs, we have added an allowSameRelease option to
WASPreUpgrade, which will allow for a version 9 to version 9
same
release clone migration.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • An allowSameRelease option was added to WASPreUpgrade, which wil
allow for a version 9 to version 9 same release migration. Note
that the clone option must be used when the allowSameRelease
option is used.

The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
9.0.5.11. For more information, see 'Recommended Updates for
