    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * When numbers are displayed in table cells, we attempt to *
    * align decimal points. In order to align both positive and *
    * negative numbers, we have to account for a negative sign. In *
    * cases where there are other non-number elements added to a *
    * table cell, such as a Singleton or another table, we cannot *
    * reliably align decimal points. In those cases, we do not *
    * apply this alignment logic. To better visualize how the *
    * alignment works, create at least two rows; one containing a *
    * positive number and the other containing a negative number. *
    * These will align at the decimal. If you add a singleton or *
    * table in one of the cells and then add either the negative *
    * or positive number in it, you will see the decimals no *
    * longer align. This is by design. *

Problem conclusion

  • When numbers are displayed in table cells, we attempt to align
decimal points. In order to align both positive and negative
numbers, we have to account for a negative sign. In cases where
there are other non-number elements added to a table cell, such
as a Singleton or another table, we cannot reliably align
decimal points. In those cases, we do not apply this alignment
logic. To better visualize how the alignment works, create at
least two rows; one containing a positive number and the other
containing a negative number. These will align at the decimal.
If you add a singleton or table in one of the cells and then add
either the negative or positive number in it, you will see the
decimals no longer align. This is by design.
