PH24370: MISMATCH BETWEEN OPTIM DIRECTORY AND EXTRACT FILE

Error description

• Error description:
  Customer is performing EXTRACT+CONVERT processing in BATCH.
  He receives the following error message:
   *** ERROR ***        Archive/Extract entry with this name
   exists, use the Batch keyword  REPLACE_ARC_DIR or
   REPLACE_EXT_DIR to override
  
  Customer adds REPLACE_EXT_DIR YES control statement to his job
  and now Optim aborts processing with the following System Error:

Problem summary

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Optim may report SystemError of:        *
  *                      MISMATCH BETWEEN OPTIM DIRECTORY AND    *
  *                      EXTRACT FILE                            *
  ****************************************************************
  Customer attempts to create an EXTRACT file (XF) in BATCH.
  However there is already an XF with specified name in the Optim
  EXTRACT directory.
  The suggested action of adding the REPLACE_EXT_DIR YES control
  statement does not resolve the issue because now Optim ends
  processing with a System Error.
  

Problem conclusion

• Optim processing correctly reports the presence of an entry for
  this EXTRACT file in the Optim directory. Such entry must have
  been created at a time when customer enabled cataloging of
  EXTRACT files in his option. Later on this option has been
  disabled but EXTRACT file entries have already been created and
  cataloged.
  Optim's suggestion of adding REPLACE_EXT_DIR YES, while correct,
  will not suffice when cataloging of EXTRACT files is not
  enabled. This message will now be enhanced to point this out or
  suggest that the entry be removed manually from the directory.
