    ****************************************************************
mod_mpmstats cannot write to the z/OS system log when
    maxclients is approaching/reached

Problem conclusion

  • Global directive "MPMStatsSystemLog ON" was added which
causes critical messages to be written to the z/OS system
    log:

The message has the following format:

            BPXM023I ($USERID) CRIHS0004W $JOBNAME mpmstats:
    approaching MaxClients ($THREADSUSED/$MAXCLIENTS)
            BPXM023I ($USERID) CRIHS0005W $JOBNAME mpmstats:
    reached MaxClients ($THREADSUSED/$MAXCLIENTS)

When the condition is cleared, a similar message with
    CRIHS0006I is issued.

Two additional improvements were made for the traditional
    usage:

For each "approaching MaxClients" message issued, log a
similar message when the condition is cleared.

Add MPMStatsBusyThreshold to allow the "approaching
MaxClients" message to be issued at thresholds other than
    the default of 90%.

The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in IBM HTTP
Server fix packs 8.5.5.18 and 9.0.5.5. For more information,
