Error description

  • You have CMAS connectivity issues and your CPSM CMAS issues a
    EYUCL0113E message. The format of the message is
    .
    EYUCL0113E
    date time applid {Receive Link Task | Send Link Task}
    terminated abnormally for {CPI-C | MRO | CPI-C Network | MRO
    Network | LU6.2} connection with {CMAS | RMAS} nodename,
    TaskID(taskid).
    .
    In that message, the 'nodename' insert is
    supposed to be the name of a CMAS or RMAS. But instead, you may
    see something like:
    .
    EYUCL0113E mycmas Receive Link Task
    terminated abnormally for CPI-C
    Network connection with CMAS
    G·» /, TaskID(12345).
    .
    Notice the garbled CMAS name, which
    could be either blanks or any random characters. This is
    incorrect.
    .
    This APAR is being opened to correct the invalid
    CMAS name in the EYUCL0113E message.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When the connection between two CMAS *
    *                      regions terminates unexpectedly,        *
    *                      message EYUCL0113E will be issued       *
    *                      reporting the failure.                  *

    *                        terminated abnormally for             *
    *                        {CPI-C | MRO | CPI-C Network |        *

    * In some scenarios where the connection *
    * was never fully formed, this message *
    * may have missing, or incorrect, *
    * characters in place of the identifier *
    * for the first speaker CMAS. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF which resolves *
    * PH23393 all CMAS regions should be restarted *
    * to activate the fix. Note that the restarts *
    * do not need to occur at the same time. *
    ****************************************************************
    In connections between two CMAS regions, the CMAS with the
    lower sysid is designated the "first speaker" CMAS, and is
    responsible for initiating the connection. The first speaker
    will attach a send task, and send a message to the "quiet side"
    CMAS to attach the receive task. This receive task runs the
    initial contact transient (ICT). The ICT will dechain a free
    buffer area, and use this to receive the COMGNNLD packet from
    the first speaker. This contains information used to continue
    to instantiate the connection.
    Before receiving the packet, the CMAS will test whether
    CMAS communication is still active ( CONN_NO_CONNECT ).
    In cases where this is false (for example, if this CMAS has
    been isolated by the maintenance point CMAS) then the receive
    will never be performed, and message EYUCL0113E will be issued.
    .
      EYUCL0113E date time applid Receive Link Task terminated
      abnormally for {CPI-C Network | MRO Network} connection with
      CMAS nodename, TaskID(taskid).
    .
    The nodename insert in this message would have been populated
    from the COMGNNLD data, but since this data area was not
    received into the buffer it is instead populated using
    residual data.

Problem conclusion

  • EYU0CLMT and EYU0CMCT, the initial contact transients for
    MRO and CPI-C CMTCMLNK connections, have been updated to ensure
    that the COMGNNLD buffer area is cleared prior to use, and that,
    in cases where the COMGNNLD buffer cannot be received, the
    nodename of the first speaker CMAS is initialised using data
    held by CICS in the connection information.
