    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Application will not install after *
    *                      migration if web.xml version is         *
    *                      missing.                                *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    If the web.xml does not have a version specified, the WebSphere
    Application Server deployment manager assumes the file is using
    the most recent version. As a result, when migrating and a mixed
    cell environment is created, the application cannot be installed
    because the newer deployment manager assumes the web.xml is a
    higher version than is supported on the older node.

Problem conclusion

  • The migration tooling now adds the max version supported by the
    mixed cell environment to the web.xml if the web.xml is missing
    version. It also fixes a message that was missing a parameter.

    The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
    8.5.5.18 and 9.0.5.4. For more information, see 'Recommended
