MQ Trigger Monitor & Bridge to retry after temporary failures

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CICS MQ transactions CKTI and CKBR * * terminate after a coupling facility * * failure. * **************************************************************** When using MQ shared queues a coupling facility failure causes the CICS MQ trigger monitor transaction, CKTI, and the CICS MQ Bridge transaction, CKBR, to terminate.
Problem conclusion
Code has been added to tolerate coupling facility errors occurring while processing MQOPEN and MQGET requests. These requests will be retried every minute for a maximum of one hour. The CICS Transaction Server Version 5 Release 4 and Version 5 Release 5, CICS Messages manual will be updated as follows. In Chapter 2. DFHMQnnnn messages - the following messages will be added immediately after the description of message DFHMQ0125 and immediately after the description of message DFHMQ0795. These new message descriptions will read as below. DFHMQ0126 date time applid Cannot open the initiation queue. CKTI will retry in one minute. MQCC=completion code MQRC= reason code. Explanation: CKTI has attempted to open an initiation queue, but the attempt is unsuccessful. System Action: This may be a temporary problem so CKTI will retry in one minute. CKTI will continue to retry every minute for one hour. User Response: Refer to the "mq messages overview" manual for . more information about mqcc and mqrc DFHMQ0127 date time applid MQGET failure. CKTI will retry in one minute. MQCC=completion code MQRC= reason code. Explanation: An attempt to issue an MQGET call on the initiation queue has been unsuccessful.
