Error description

  • This problem is exposed by the use of SIT parameter
PARMERR=IGNORE and SIT override USSHOME=NONE. The code in
DFHPASY which processes SIT overrides correctly flags that the
disallowed USSHOME value of NONE has been used. However, this
disallowed value is detected after it has overwritten the
SITCHOME field in the SIT table. As PARMERR=IGNORE is in effect,
parameter manager simply reports the invalid USSHOME value and
proceeds to processing the next SIT override

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CICS running with USSHOME=NONE. *
    ****************************************************************
At CICS TS 5.5 the setting of USSHOME=NONE has been removed.
If the SIT override of USSHOME=NONE is set and PARMERR=IGNORE
the CICS region startup will still issue messages DFHPA1913 and
DFHPA1910 to indicate USSHOME=NONE is invalid and ignored.
The problem is that the in-core SIT table is still being updated
with the SIT override value of NONE.
Since PARMERR=IGNORE, CICS reports the invalid USSHOME parameter
and then goes on to process the next SIT override.
Document handler incorrectly still tolerates a USSHOME=NONE.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHPASY has been changed to check the USSHOME override before
    updating the SIT table.
DFHDHDH has also been changed to no longer tolerate a
    USSHOME=NONE.
