Error description

  • You are formatting CICS Trace and find that eventually you
    receive an S80A ( ABEND80A ABENDS80A ) abend. Examining an SVC
    dump of the situation shows that a buildup of storage in
    Subpool 0 Key 8 ( SP0 KEY8 )
    CICS has obtained duplicate 32K buffers, but only done a
    FREEMAIN on one of them.
    They may be more prevalent when using vendor products which
    examine and format CICS trace from within a running CICS region.

    Repeated invocations of the CICS Trace Domain Trace VERBEXIT
    can consume all available storage, causing IPCS to abend.
    This occurs because DFHTRDUF can leak areas of storage.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHTRDUF has been changed to fix the storage leak.
