APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In some cases, CICS may run code in routine ACCMTEST ( DFHFCFR
) on the RO TCB. This should not be happening. This APAR is
being opened to correct that situation.

    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When CICS is processing an error during *
    * a logger request it is possible to *
    * drive a request to the CFDT server on *
    *                      the RO TCB.                             *
    ****************************************************************
When CICS is processing an error during a logger request it
can require that DFHRSDU is driven to start the dump request.
This can be done while on the RO TCB. If the CICS region is
part of a CMAS, then the dump request will want to update
the CFDT file DFHRSTAT. This request will be made to FCFR who
will call DFHFCDR. When FCDR calls the CFDT server the request
will complete with a disaster response and the file will not
be updated. CICS will continue to process the dump request. The
disaster response is due to FCDR being driven while on the RO
TCB as it is being mistakenly treated as an open TCB for CFDT
    threadsafety processing.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHFCFR has been updated to ensure that if a file control
request against a CFDT file is made when on the RO TCB that
a switch to the QR TCB is made before connecting to DFHFCDR and
    the CFDT server.
