APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• MTF failed to recall HSM migrated dataset while trying to
  transfer from distributed platform to z/OS.
  Target agent trace shows following:
  c.i.w.io.zos.FTEDataset                        ----+----+ d
  generateDatasetAttributes data
  [com.ibm.wmqfte.io.FTEFileIOException: BFGIO0074W: An internal
  error has occurred.
  
                        The attributes for data set
  //'TARGET.DATASET' are not available, since the format-1 DSCB
  not available (data set could be on tape).
  
                        Additional information: OBTAIN DSN error
  RC=4 (0x4)]
   c.i.w.io.zos.FTEDataset                        ----+---- }
      generateDatasetAttributes returns [null] String
  
  This does not happen while transferring from z/OS to z/OS
  because the dataset attributes for source dataset will be used.

Problem summary

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  During MFT transfer, if the source agent is running on a
  non-z/OS platform and destination agent is running on z/OS
  platform, the transfer to destination dataset failed when the
  destination dataset was in migrated state.
  
  Destination agent threw the following RcException which was seen
  on the agent trace.
      com.ibm.jzos.RcException: OBTAIN DSN error RC=4 (0x4)
  MFT also reported : BFGIO0074W: An internal error has occurred.
  The attributes for data set //'SYS9.HMF.WZA.TRANSFER.TO11' are
  not available, since the format-1 DSCB not available (data set
  could be on tape). Additional information: OBTAIN DSN error RC=4
  (0x4) [com.ibm.wmqfte.io.FTEFileIOException] 	
  

Problem conclusion

• MFT on z/OS has been updated such that when the destination
  dataset is detected to be in migrated state, the dataset is
  first recalled and transfer processing would continue only if
  recall is successful.
