PH19083: MQ Z/OS: MQ CHANNEL STATUS SHOWS INCORRECT VALUE OF "*" FOR THE MCAUSER WHEN MULTIPLE CONVERSATIONS START CONCURRENTLY

Error description

• The DISPLAY CHSTATUS(CHANNEL_NAME) shows an '*' for the MCAUSER
  instead of the correct userid to which it is set.

Problem summary

  *                 Release 1 Modification 0 and Release 2       *
  *                 Modification 0.                              *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When multiple conversations start       *
  *                      concurrently the MCAUSER field contains *
  *                      the  value of "*" instead of the user   *
  *                      ID when issuing a 'DISPLAY CHSTATUS()'  *
  *                      command on a SVRCONN channel. The       *
  *                      MCAUSER field should only contain a     *
  *                      value of "*" if the MCAUSER ID in use   *
  *                      varies across these conversations.      *

  The code that checks if the MCAUSER is inconsistent used the
  incorrect length when performing the comparison of MCAUSERs
  meaning the code was comparing additional data which was
  unlikely to be equal. This resulted in the value MCAUSER(*)
  being incorrectly displayed.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code that checks the MCAUSER in the CHSTATUS has
  been changed to display the user ID if all conversations have
  the same MCAUSER ID value.
