APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • ABEND0C4 can occur when GTF trace is active and client
connects with Security parameters in MQCSP control block.
    .
    Additional Keywords:
    CSQMQMR7 CSQMCCSP
The ABEND0C4 in CSQWVCOL+10E0 occurs for an execute instruction
44E0 A03A where the instruction to be executed is at +174A:
    D200 5000 F000 where Reg15 is bad.

Local fix

  • Do not run MQ GTF trace if a client is connecting to the queue
manager with security parameters in an MQCSP. If you need to
stop an active GTF trace, issue the MQ command
      /cpf STOP TRACE(GLOBAL) DEST(RES) CLASS(*) RMID(*)
where "cpf" is the command prefix for the queue manager.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABEND0C4 when GTF trace is active and *
    * security parameters in MQCSP. *
    ****************************************************************
ABEND0C4 can occur when GTF trace is active and a client
connects with security parameters in the MQCSP control block.
The ABEND occurs when csqmccsp runs in the QMGR to check the
client user ID and password in the MQCSP control block.
When GTF trace is active an attempt is made to trace the
contents of the MQCSP on entry to csqmccsp. However at this
point the MQCSP has not yet been copied from the CHIN, and it's
pointer still addresses CHIN storage, resulting in the reported
    ABEND0C4 in CSQWVCOL.

Problem conclusion

  • Module csqmccsp has been updated for the reported problem to
trace the contents of the MQCSP to GTF on exit from csqmccsp,
after it has been copied from the CHIN.
