Error description

  • In previous versions of MQ, the output data set for CSQUTIL
COPY had an LRECL of 32768.  With MQ 9.1, the LRECL is 231.
This change was unintentional so should be corrected.

Local fix

  • For the CSQUTIL COPY function, a lower version of the CSQUTIL
utility may be used.

*                      of 32768. With MQ 9.1, the LRECL is     *
*                      231. This change was unintentional so   *
*                      should be corrected.                    *

The CSQUTIL COPY function creates a DCB for the output data set.
The LRECL value of 'X' was being specified, however, this was
not being correctly interpreted by the macro used to create the
DCB. This led to the EBCDIC value for X (decimal 231) being
used for the LRECL.

Problem conclusion

  • The call to the macro to initialise the DCB is corrected to
produce the correct value for the LRECL of 32786.
