Error description

  • Customer was having an issue with the Lerunopts field in CEDA.
    He was saying that when entering the program name for lerunopts,
    sometimes it would automatically wrap into the threadlimit field
    after 8 bytes and other times it would not wrap and you could
    enter in more than 8 bytes. After trying this out several times,
    I also noticed the same thing. It wrapped for me automatically
    the first couple of times I tried, and then when I started a new
    session it wouldn't wrap anymore.

    A CICS user uses CEDA to define a JVMSERVER resource.
    The CEDA JVMSERVER panel's LERUNOPTS attribute is populated
    with the default LERUNOPTS program DFHAXRO, but the field is
    not terminated properly.
    The user subsequently types in a new LERUNOPTS program name
    and is allowed to enter more than eight characters.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS has been changed to set the default LERUNOPTS program
    as "DFHAXRO " - including a trailing blank space character.
    This causes the CEDA DEFINE JVMSERVER panel to be built
    correctly, allowing only eight characters to be specified.
