  • This APAR provides support for Java EE 8 Full Platform in CICS
Liberty integrated-mode.

Autoconfigure has been changed to provide JDBC 4.2 as the
default version of JDBC when the
com.ibm.cics.jvmserver.wlp.jdbc.driver.location JVM profile
property is specified. A specific version of JDBC can be
provided by defining a supported JDBC feature in the
featureManager element of server.xml.

Autoconfigure has also been updated to work with the
appSecurity-3.0 feature.

Customers should note that WebSphere Liberty's OSGi support is
not compatible with Java EE 8.  The following features are not
supported in conjunction with Java EE 8:

- blueprint-1.0
- httpWhiteboard-1.0
- osgiAppIntegration-1.0
- osgiBundle-1.0
- osgi.jpa-1.0
- wab-1.0

Customers wishing to use Java EE 8 must include the following
property in the JVMSERVER's JVM profile to stop the
autoconfiguration of wab-1.0.

-Dcom.ibm.cics.jvmserver.wlp.wab=false

EBA bundleparts cannot be deployed to a Liberty JVM server
running Java EE 8.

The CICS TS 5.5 Knowledge Center will be updated to indicate
that we support Liberty Java EE 8 Full Platform in
integrated-mode.
