Error description

  • Even though we have replaced the functionality of IEFUSI with
SMFLIMxx, CICS is still reporting it:
DFHSM0601I CICSRGN Limit of above the bar storage available is
    8G from IEFUSI.
CICS determines the memlimit source from the field RAXLVMEMLIMS
'the Source of Address Space memory limit' but this field
alone may not be sufficent to correctly establish the source
from where the MEMLIMIT value was actually set.
This can result in the CICS message DFHSM0601I containing
    the wrong memlimit source value.

Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFHSM0601I incorrectly reports that *
    * MEMLIMIT was set by IEFUSI when *
    * SMFLIMxx is in use. *
    ****************************************************************
When the source of the last change to the Address Space Memory
Limit is SMFLIMxx, DFHSMDM incorrectly assumes it is the IEFUSI
    exit.
DFHSM0601I applid Limit of above the bar storage available is
                                                     nG from IEFUSI.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHSMDM is updated to check for SMFLIMxx being the source of the
change. DFHSM0601I will now show SMF instead of IEFUSI when
    SMFLIMxx is the source.
