PH09727: CICS REGION FAILS TO TERMINATE AFTER DFHKE0201 DFHKESTX LOOPS DEFERRING DETACH DUE TO S8 TCB

Error description

• Running CICS TS 5.2 you experience the following messages:
  
  DFHKE0201 applid  ABOUT TO TAKE SDUMP. DUMPCODE:KERNDUMP,
            DUMPID: 0/0000. (MODULE DFHKESTX)
  DFHKE0202 applid  SDUMP COMPLETE. (MODULE DFHKESTX)
  .
  followed by a few of the following messages:
  
  BPXP018I THREAD xxxxx in process ended without being undubbed
           with completion code 0033E000 and reason code 000000000
  
  Then the region hangs, never terminates and has to be cancelled.
  A dump taken prior to the cancel showed  the QR TCB was in a
  loop in module DFHKESTX. The code is looping through KTC
  control blocks looking for child KTCB's.  It loops thinking it
  has to DEFER the detach due to still having an S8 TCB, which is
  used for SSL processing.
