APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Fix Pack 8.5.5.14 replaces Java 6 with Java 8. On Solaris SPARC,
Java 8 is only supported with 64-bit architecture and replaced
Java 8 becomes 64 bit. As result, IBM HTTP Server 32 bit
binaries are also replaced with 64-bit binaries.

From IHS 8.5.5.14, embedded Java 6 is not supported and it
only supports embedded Java 8. Because Solaris SPARC only
support 64-bit Java 8 the architecture of IHS is switched
from 32-bit to 64-bit after update to IHS 8.5.5.14. Therefore,
IBM HTTP Server 32-bit binaries are replaced by 64-bit
binaries.

Problem conclusion

  • The fix is to install IBM HTTP Server 32-bit binaries with
64-bit embedded Java 8 if previous IHS installation is 32-bit
binaries.
