Error description
Users Affected: Users of COBOL V6.2 who want to have programs behave as if the IS INITIAL clause was specified in the PROGRAM-ID paragraph without making source code changes. This APAR delivers a new compiler option, INITIAL. When the compiler option INITIAL is in effect, the program will behave as if the IS INITIAL clause had been added to the PROGRAM-ID paragraph. Most noticeably, data items with VALUE clauses will be re-set to their initial values. INITIAL Specifies that when program-name is called, program-name and any programs contained (nested) within it are placed in their initial state. Note: INITIAL (and the IS INITIAL clause) does not have any effect on data items that do not have VALUE clauses.

Comments
A new compiler option, INITIAL, is added to allow users to get a program that has initial values in data items each time the program is called, without having to add the IS INITIAL clause to their PROGRAM-ID paragraph, and without having to use dynamic CALL and CANCEL.
