PH05805: ABEND0C4 ALZSCRUB + X'53A' AND SOME KNOWLEDGE MODULE UPDATES

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Various items addressed:
  1) Scrub of IMS x'5920' record can ABENDS0C4 if the MSUPRLOC
  flag is set. ALZSCRUB uses the value set in MSUPLEN as the
  length of data to be cleared, this value is not correct.    S0C4
  2) CEX x'00AA' record containing extended length data field
  is not handled correctly, unpredictable results may occur when
  formatting the record.  Such results can be but are not limited
  to malformed record displays and system abends.
  3) Updates are required to some Knowledge Modules as a result of
  IMS service updates CEX x'00AA' record containing extended
  length data field and to improve readability.
  4) A CDS file is required for option 1. Process, on IMS PI
  primary menu, but no error message is generated until processing
  is initiated.

Problem conclusion

• 1. Scrub utility, and the IMS x'5920' KM, are updated to
     include proper handling of the data when MSUPTYP=MSUPDEC.
  
  2. CEX x'00AA' KM updated to handle events containing an
     extended length data field.
  
  3. Updates are required to some Knowledge Modules as a result
     of IMS service up to PUT1811, also improvements to
     formatting for readability.
  
  4. Message ISPP190 is generated if option 1. Process is
     selected and no Control Data Set is defined on the
     Primary Option menu.
