PH05463: DFHPI1007 JSON TO DATA TRANSFORMATION FAILED BECAUSE OF INCORRECT INPUT (UNEXPECTED_CONTENT) FOR JSONTRANSFRM

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In the trace, prior to the PI 3413 PIJP1 *EXC* PARSING ERROR
  that led to the dump being taken you can see DFHJSON-JSON
  container was populated with JSON data, filling the container.
  There are no trailing nulls so this is different than what led
  to PH05090. The exception is put out because the JSON string
  contains a Unicode NULL character (an escaped sequence of 0000).
  This APAR is to update the JSON parser to accept this
  non-printable character and pass it through to the application.

  A null character string \"u0000" is not accepted by the
  Native JSON parser. The transformation is failed and the
  following message is received:
  
  
  DFHPI1007 JSON to data transformation failed because of
  incorrect input (UNEXPECTED_CONTENT ) for JSONTRANSFRM
  jsontransfrm.
  

Problem conclusion

• The Java transformation logic accepts this input and this is
  passed through to the application as an EBCDIC NUL x'00'.
  The Native implementation has now been changed to behave in the
  same way.
