Error description
ERROR DESCRIPTION:Ø You are running into an issue where PCTs and PPTs will install with different attributes for TASKDATALOC and DATALOCATION in V5.4 than they did under V5.3. This can lead to AEZC abends that ordinarily do not happen. That is happening is that a PCT that is defined as TASKDATALOC(BELOW) in the CSD installs fine under 5.3. That same PCT when installed under 5.4 will now show TASKDATALOC(ANY). A CEDA display of the PCT will also show TASKDATALOC(ANY). Similar behavior is seen for PPTs. These programs that are having these troubles are old programs whose CSD records were written many years ago when the default value was not saved to the CSD. These records now pick up the new default value. This issue is happening even with APAR/PTF PI90920/UI53029 applied. Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): KIXREVxxx

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS Users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: After upgrading to CICS TS 5.4 * * applications may fail with AEZC abends. * **************************************************************** At CICS TS 5.4 a number of default values have been changed for program and transactions. In early releases of CICS the contents of the CSD would contain the non-default values only; so when the defaults were changed at 5.4 these were now incorrect for customers who were expecting to use the old defaults. This problem is different to PI90920 because the contents of the CSD which PI90920 fixed were different but still resulted in the new default values being used. Keywords: abendAEZC CSDUP CEDA
Problem conclusion
CICS CSD record processing has been changed to use the original default values when processing such an old CSD containing just the non-default values.
