PH03724: FILTER NOT WORKING ON A DATA MODULE OF A DATA SET JOINED TO A PACKAGE

Error description

  • Client uploaded a data set (Excel file) that contains a list of
    personnel IDs that they are responsible for. They want to use
    this list to filter the data in their larger FM package that
    pulls back the corporate data. They create a data module and add
    the data set of personnel IDs as well as their corporate
    package. They then join the data set to the package on personnel
    ID.
    
    When they create a dashboard, they add a measure as a summary
    value to the canvas. It shows an over all number. They then add
    the personnel ID from the data set portion of the data module to
    the filter area. When they select a few items, the summary value
    reflects the correct data. When they select all items, they also
    see the correct data. However, with many data sets the clients
    work with, there can be several hundred values. It is not
    feasible for them to individually select them all.
    
    If they clear all values and then select Invert, it appears to
    select all the values, however, when the click OK the summary
    value remains as the overall value and is not filtered to the
    selected items. The filter shows that "All" is selected in the
    context area, however, it appears that the filter is dropped
    instead of sending the selected values as filter predicates in
    the Where clause.
