APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • IBM MQ catalog entries for multi volume
tape archives no longer display the second volser entry.
Change Team investigation determined that instead of MQ passing
a valid list of volume serial IDs, the initial VOLSER looks to
be overlaid by the subsequent one. This results in a
blank serial number being passed during an SVC 26 ( CATALOG )
call for the second volume.

Catalog entries for archive log datasets on tape volumes
incorrectly only include the first VOLSER entry. For archive
log datasets spanning multiple tape volumes, the second and
further VOLSER entries are missing from the catalog entry.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Archive log catalog processing for tape datasets has been
updated to set all the applicable VOLSER fields for each
volume the dataset spans.
