Error description

  • ITKB is setting an incorrect PSW key when calling SETLOCK macro
    to obtain a local lock.
SETLOCK macro requires PSW key 0, but ITKB calls that macro with
    PSW key 8.
As the result, IEAVESLL (MVS lock manager module) attempts to
store into the PSA and abends with S0C4.

This is a forward fit of Tools Base V1.5 APAR PH02253.

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
ITKB resource manager routine checks its own control block each
time the calling task of ITKB terminates, and attempts to
release resources as needed. If resources need to release, the
routine obtains local lock using SETLOCK macro.

The cause of this problem is that the routine sets incorrect PSW
key when calling SETLOCK macro to obtain a local lock. As the
result, MVS Lock Manager module IEAVESLL called by SETLOCK macro
    terminates with abend S0C4.

Problem conclusion

  • The ITKB resource manager routine has been modified to set
correct PSW key before calling SETLOCK macro.
