Error description

  • Customer has a Global Exit at exit point XTSEREQ which does the
    following:

    - if an application tries to read a Queue named x'00000000',
the exit replaces the x'00000000' with 'BINARYZ' by setting
      TS_ADDR1 to BIBARYZ:
      LA R7,=CL8'BINARYZ'
      ST R7,TS_ADDR1
    - since a read Queue name of x'00000000' will produce a
      EIBRESP of X'10' ( Decimal 16 ) INVREQ,
the exit is designed to read Queue name of 'BINARYZ' which
does not exist in order to produce EIBRESP of X'2C'
      ( Decimal 44 ) QIDERR instead INVREQ.
    .
The exit worked on releases prior to CICS/TS 5.4.
On CICS/TS 5.4 the change of queue name being made by the exit
    is not being honoured.
It appears DFHEITS was changed in 5.4 and the exit is now
invoked after, rather than before the:
    TS 0C02 TSMB EXIT MATCH/OK.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Global user exit XTSEREQ does not *
    * honour a change of TS queue name. *
    ****************************************************************
In the reported problem an XTSEREQ GLUE was active and its
purpose was to change a temporary storage queue name from (eg)
    queue_a to queue_b.
An application made a TS request specifying queue_a and even
though exit XTSEREQ was driven to change the queue name to
queue_b, it was too late within DFHEITS to have an effect,
queue_a was present on the ensuing TS request.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHEITS has been modified by invoking XTSEREQ earlier such that
a change of TS queue name will be honoured.
