PH01825: AUTONOMICS DIRECTOR ALLOWS DISABLING OF RECOVERY AUTOMATION

APAR status

• Closed as new function.

Error description

• If the customer has Recovery Solution Pack registered, RECOVERY
  sensor and evaluation jobs are performed automatically. However
  the customer would like to run only REORG sensor and evaluation
  jobs.
  We will provide new feature to disable RECOVERY automation.

  If the customer has Recovery Solution Pack registered, RECOVERY
  sensor and evaluation jobs are performed automatically.
  However the customer would like to run only REORG sensor and
  evaluation jobs.
  

Problem conclusion

• The Autonomics Director provides new parameter.
  If user specifies RECOVERY=DISABLE, recovery sensor and
  evaluation will not be performed automatically.
  
  1. ADD 'RECOVERY=DISABLE' parameter to IAVPCOM member in your
  PROCLIB like as below.

  2. Start the Autonomics Director server.
  The following job log messages indicate that recovery sensor
  and evaluation will not be performed automatically.
  
  IAV0704I - RECOVERY SENSOR AND EVALUATION AUTOMATION IS DISABLED
  
  New parameter is:
  RECOVERY
  (Optional) Specify the Recovery sensor and evaluation
  automation enable and disable.
  You can set this parameter to ENABLE and DISABLE. The default
  value is ENABLE.
  If you set DISABLE, Recovery sensor and evaluation will not be
  performed automatically.
  
  New Message is:
  IAV0704I RECOVERY SENSOR AND EVALUATION AUTOMATION IS DISABLED
  Explanation: The Autonomics Director environment has IMS
  Recovery Solution Pack.
  However Recovery sensor and evaluation jobs will not be
  performed automatically.
  System action: Processing continues.
  User response: None.
