Error description
You are running CICS TS 4.2 and issue the STAT transaction. When you select the "Dispatcher MVS TCBs" option, you receive the following error: . DFHSR0001 An abend (code 0C7/AKEA) has occurred at offset X'0000CDB6' in program DFH0STSY. . The failing instruction is the following COMPARE DECIMAL: . F930 3018 C018 | CP X'18'(X'4',R3),X'18'(X'1',R12) . Each operand must be in signed-packed-decimal format, but in this case operand 1 - R13+18 pointed to 000005DC which is not valid format, causing the data exception. . Our code is attempting to retrieve the current task number associated with the JS- Job Step TCB- field name is: DSRDS-TCB-CICS-TASK Routine dfhkeds_inquire_mvstcb is where we retrieve this information, and the code is not checking if the TCA address is zero. This causes the code to go to low core + 109 to retrieve the task number. In this case location 109 contained the value 0005DC. Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Abend S0C7 occurs when running the STAT * * transaction * **************************************************************** When running the STAT transaction, and choosing the "Dispatcher MVS TCBs" option, the user experiences an S0C7 abend. This is because field TAS_TCA_ADDRESS, which is used to retrieve the transaction task number, contains zeroes. Keyword(s): KEDS_TCA_TASK_NUMBER ABENDS0C7
Problem conclusion
DFHKEDS has been altered so that, if TAS_TCA_ADDRESS contains zeroes, the transaction task number will be set to zeroes also, to prevent an S0C7 data exception.
