Error description

  • IDz 14.x or zExplorer client 3.0.x shows erroneous server
version 14.0 in the Properties view of the MVS Files filter
The server version shows the 'internal protocol' but for the
users, the server version is RDz 9.x (or versions before) which
is what should be shown there.

Local fix

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • When a user selects the MVS Files in the Remote Systems view and
 looks at the Property Sheet view to see the server version, the
 reported version shows 14.0 rather than the precise server
version.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The reported version didn't match the actual version because the
 host property being used wasn't intended for display.  In order
 to resolve this, a different host property needs to be used for
 display purposes.
