PH00732: POSSIBLE MISSING DATA WHEN SWITCHING FROM ACTIVE LOG TO ARCHIVE LOG

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When DB2 Log Analysis Tool is processing the Active Log and DB2
  begins to overwrite the Active Log, the product automatically
  stops processing the Active Log and picks back up processing on
  the associated archive log. If this switch occurs between a
  spanned log record, it is possible to terminate processing the
  archive log too soon which causes some data to be unreported.
  

Local fix

• When this is discovered, the job can be re-run to capture the
  data because now the data is not in the active log.
  To minimize the risk, the settings in the control file should be
  changed so that the archive log has priority over the active
  log.
