Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: FC0001 abend in DFHFCVS, accessing * * task-level storage which belonged to * * a previous task. * **************************************************************** A CICS transaction issues an EXEC CICS READ SET followed by an EXEC CICS READ UPDATE SET command. The task then abends. It enters HANDLE ABEND processing which issues an EXEC CICS SYNCPOINT ROLLBACK command. When DFHFCFR is called to prepare to backout, CICS puts the address of the task's File Control SET storage (which is task-level storage) into a File Control FC_BUFFER_BASE FCPH_CHAIN element (which is a chain of shared region-level storage). Later, another transaction takes the address from the FC_BUFFER_BASE FCPH_CHAIN and suffers an 0C4 abend. Additional Keywords: DFHFC0001 FC0001 FCSS SET FCB_256 FCB_512 FCB_1K FCB_2K FCB_4K FCB_8K FCB_16K FCB_32K FCB_64K FCB_128 FCB_256 FCB_512 FCB_1M FCB_2M FCB_4M FCB_8M FCB_16M
Problem conclusion
UI56669 UI56670 UI56671 UI56672 DFHFCFR has been changed to prevent it from putting task-level storage onto the region-level chain.
