Error description

  • The xSEL function allows customers to specify a WHERE
    clause for the corresponding x function, where x is a function
    on panel ADB21. The xSEL function thus should not yield a
    larger result set than that produced by the x function.

    The FSEL function, however, does not include the required
    ROUTINETYPE='F' in the WHERE clause of its query of
    SYSIBM.SYROUTINES, as the F function does. As a result, when
    the SELECT statement is executed, the results may include
    functions with ROUTINETYPE = 'P' (stored procedure), in
    addition to the expected user-defined or cast functions
    (ROUTINEYTPE='F').

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When 'FSEL' (which allows you *
    * to specify a WHERE clause when *

    * 'System Catalog', the results may *
    * include stored procedures in addition *
    *                      to functions.                           *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When 'FSEL' is entered on the Option line of panel ADB21
    'System Catalog', panel ADB21TSE 'Build SQL SELECT Prototype'
    displays the SELECT statement with 'WHERE ?', instead of
    "WHERE ROUTINETYPE='F'". The result set may thus stored
    procedures (with ROUTINETYPE='P'), in addition to the expected
    user-defined or cast functions (with ROUTINETYPE='F').
