Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Any with network resources which have * * implemented appn items 8441 or 8442. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This PTF introduces support for * * providing PU and LU names to downstream * * gateways and routers. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** This PTF introduces support for providing PU and LU names to downstream gateways and routers. Providing the names to these resources will help provide better network management. This support is available for PUs and LUs which are connected through DLUR as well as NCP attached. The names will be provided by passing a CV0E, Network Name control vector on the ACTPU and ACTLU. By default, this vector is not passed to the PUs and LUs. A new keyword is being provided to enable the passing of the names. INCLUD0E=YES|NO is the keyword which can be used to enable this new support. The default if INCLUD0E is not coded is NO. This means the names will not be passed through by NCP or the DLUR. If YES is coded the names can be passed through. Note that the names can only be passed through by a DLUR or NCP that has implemented this function. For DLUR, this function is provided by SNA Architecture item 8441. For NCP, this function is provided by item 8442.
