* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1 - zAPM Connect could not track        *
*                      transactions that flow from CICS1 to    *
*                      MQ to CICS2. Transaction tracking       *
*                      would stop after CICS1.                 *
*                      2 - There is no ability for similar     *
*                      CICS regions to be grouped together     *
*                      on the AppDynamics UI.                  *
*                      3 - Unable to list monitored DTP        *
*                      transactions.                           *
*                      4 - zAPM Connect IMS modules lack       *
*                      serviceability information.             *
*                      5 - zAPM Connect did not track async    *
*                      transactions correctly                  *

* RECOMMENDATION: Apply this ++APAR.                           *

1 - zAPM Connect needs to track transactions that flow from
CICS to MQ to CICS.
2 - zAPM Connect needs to group similar functional CICS
regions for easier display on the AppDynamics UI.
3 - zAPM Connect needs an easier way to list what DTP
transactions are being monitored.
4 - zAPM Connect IMS modules are missing comments.
5 - zAPM Connect needs update to correctly handle async calls

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Changes to Z APM include the following:
1 - Tracking has been added for application flows across CICS
regions that use an MQ message (MQPUT and MQGET) to
communicate across regions.
2 - Allow groupings of CICS regions for display on the
AppDynamics UI.
3 - List what DTP transactions, Group, and monitored MQ
queues are being tracked.
4 - Serviceability information has been added to the IMS
modules.
5 - Tracking has been added for CICS calls made using the EXEC
CICS START API
