Error description

  • Substring of system symbol followed by other literals in PROGxx
    not parsed correctly.

    For example, if PARMLIB member PROG02 contains an entry with:
    VOL(TXX&SYSR2(4:1).02))

    where symbol &SYSR2 is defined as G2402D, the parsed value is
    TXX0.0 but it should be TXX002

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of zSecure Collect and users of *
    *                 zSecure Admin/Audit exploiting the status    *
    * auditing of security and system *
    *                 tables/options reports.                      *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: zSecure Collect and Audit might *
    * incorrectly resolve system symbols with *
    * substring operators specified in PROGxx *
    *                      system configuration members.           *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF provided. *
    ****************************************************************
    When system symbols with substring operators are present in
    PROGxx system configuration members and substring specification
    is terminated with an optional 'dot' character (like
    &SYSNAME(1:3).), zSecure Collect and Audit do not handle the
    'dot' as part of the system symbol specification hence
    resolved system symbol value contains the 'dot'.

Problem conclusion

  • zSecure Collect and Audit have been modified so that they
    properly handle system symbols substring operators terminated
    with a 'dot' character.
