Error description
NEW FUNCTION Compatibility Toleration Coexistence with HJE77D0 JES2 z/OS2.5. Additional Symptoms: MSGHASP710 MSG$HASP710 $HASP710
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * * All users of HJE77B0 and HJE77C0 who * * plan to run an HJE77D0 version of JES2 * * in the same MAS. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * * Releases HJE77B0 and HJE77C0 are * * changed to recognize JES2 release * * HJE77D0 as a valid member to co-exist * * within a multi-access SPOOL (MAS) * * environment. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** $HASPEQU is updated to specify HJE77D0 as the highest valid release that can coexist in a JES2 MAS. If this APAR is not applied, message MSGHASP710 will be issued when attempting to initialize an HJE77D0 member in a MAS with an HJE77B0 or HJE77C0 member (or vice versa). In addition, the JES2 service level, J2SLVL, has been increased. Releases of JES2 prior to HJE77B0 cannot coexist in a MAS with HJE77D0.

Comments
TYPE/RESTART(WARM) IPL/REQUIRED(YES) CLPA(YES) CLPA is needed only if HASCxxxx modules currently reside in the pageable link pack area (PLPA). $HASPEQU is updated to specify HJE77D0 as the highest level of JES2 that can exist in a MAS. The JES2 service level is updated to indicate a new service level exists. If you do not have this APAR on all members of the MAS or have any MAS members at a level prior to HJE77B0 you may experience various problems under the following circumstances: - a member of the MAS is updated to HJE77D0. - the HJE77D0 member processes work, updating the checkpoint, expands the checkpoint limits, or stores output to SPOOL. - the HJE77D0 member is changed back to a prior release. In the above circumstances, if policies were imported on z/OS V2R5 you may encounter various errors attempting to process policies. With z/OS V2R5, the JES2 checkpoint version must be z22 mode. If an attempt is made to retroactivate the JES2 checkpoint to z11 mode when a z/OS V2R5 JES2 member is active in the MAS the following message will be issued: $HASP445 UNACTIVATE REQUEST FAILED, An uplevel member is active in the MAS JES2 policy function is enhanced in z/OS 2.5 - new policy types are added and new attributes are available for the existing policy type (JobConversion). New policy types are not visible to members at z/OS 2.4 level. If JobConversion policy is created on z/OS 2.5 with new attributes not supported on z/OS 2.4, such policy will be rejected by members at z/OS 2.4 level. This APAR preREQs a number of APARs that ensure all downlevel JES2 members contain a level of service compatible with z/OS V2R5. Ongoing service in z/OS V2R4 has created preREQ chain complexities when attempting to apply JES2 toleration APAR OA59665 and its companion APAR OA58190. APAR OA59665 / UJ03635 is a JES2 toleration PTF which includes the following HOLD(MULTSYS) information: This PTF must be installed and active on all members of a JES2 MAS before APAR OA58190 can be applied to any z/OS2.4 (HJE77C0) member within that MAS. However, the preREQ chain of UJ03635 can include PTFs that require the inclusion of OA58190; thereby contradicting the instruction of the MULTSYS. Attempting to apply OA59665 / UJ03635 with an EXCLUDE of OA58190 / UJ03971 will result in GIM30204E and GIM35905I error messages.
